Some facts from the history of the Photo Festival:
The international youth Photo Festival for peace and understanding has been carried out by the Peace House since 1996 within the framework of the program «The Window in World». Young photographers from Germany, Argentina, Slovakia, Ukraine, Belarus and 42 regions of the Russian Federation took part in the festivals in 1999 - 2003.
The Aim of the Festival:
Further popularization of Photo art among children and youth.
Encouragement of creative relationships between photo studios of Russia and other countries.
Information for the participants:
The Festival is conducted in 2 stages.
The first stage
Best photos exhibition under the theme FOR PEACE AND UNDERSTANDING. The motto for the show is 'The Art to Unite People'
Amateurs and professionals under the age of 25 from all parts of the world are invited to participate in the exhibition.
The participation in this stage is free of charge.
The size of the original photographs is 18´24 cm up to 30´40 cm.
The authors need to attach a label to the backside of each print. All the labels should be arranged in the following way:

Each participant may send up to 5 black and white or color pictures to the Photo Show. A group of photographers may send up to 20 pictures. Please make sure the works are well packed before mailing them.
The jury will select the best works among the four age groups: under 12, under 15, under 18 and under 25 years old. In each age group 3 winners will be selected. The three best groups will also be awarded. Different organizations and sponsors will contribute special awards.
All participants will be receive certificates. The deadline for receiving pictures is September 15, 2005. After this date, the works will be evaluated.
All works will be returned. Work noted diploma and prizes of the festival will remain at the Peace House for organization of exhibitions and seminars.
The second stage
The Meeting of young photographers - November 2-6, 2005 in Vladimir. A creative meeting of young photographers will be conducted on the basis of international Photo exhibition. In the course of the meeting the following is planned:
- a seminar for the leaders of the groups;
- a trip and photo shooting in ancient Russian cities of Suzdal and Vladimir;
- a blitz contest of the best photos «Vladimir in Friends’ eyes»
- photography workshops
All participants will have interesting excursional and cultural programs. This meeting in Vladimir is a combination of rest and creative work for adults and children.
For participation in the second stage:
On receiving the invitation, groups and individual participants interested in participation in the second stage of the festival are expected to submit an application before August 1 to the organization committee with information on the first and family names, mailing address, telephone number, the name of the organization, birth date, passport data. The application for participation in festival is possible to send via fax of the Peace House (7 0922) 42 -11 -93
or (7 0922) 23 -35 -09 at the Youth Affairs Committee at the Vladimir Regional Administration.
On the application confirmation by the organization committee the participants will receive individual invitations. The fee for the participants and guests of the Photo show is 400 USD, which includes meeting the participants in Moscow and bringing them to Vladimir and back, participation in the festival program, accommodation, 3 meals a day, excursion and cultural programs, trips and outdoor activities, workshops, and preparation of all the necessary documents. The fee must be paid on arrival in Vladimir.
The sending organizations cover the traveling expenses of the participants to Vladimir. The amount of participants in delegations is not unlimited.
The day for the arrival of participants of the Photo Festival in Vladimir is November 2, 2005.
The opening of international photo festival and exhibitions will be conducted on November 3, 2005.
